Smoothies Anytime

Delicious Smoothie

I came up with the idea of a powdered smoothie mix when I was getting to the end of my can of yogurt bites and many of the tasty little squares had been crushed into a powder.  It got me thinking about some of the cans of freeze dried fruit I had and how some people said to just put the powdery parts into a smoothie.  Hmm, interesting.  Then I thought about someone telling me that you could make baby food from Thrive freeze dried foods by putting them in the food processor then later adding water.

Powdery yogurt bites

From that inspiration, this is what I came up with.

I put it in the food processor and chopped it to a powder. I was then able to put it in a blender bottle with around a cup of water, shake it up and drink it.  I put it over ice for the picture at the top of the post, but then I drank what was left in the bottle.  It was tasty both ways.  It is a good idea to let it sit for a minute to let the fruit in larger than powder chunks rehydrate completely.

I'm excited to be able to have a fruit smoothie anyplace I can find water.
